Day 1 Beaune

Take intimacy in a Bed & Breakfast situated in the heart of Bourgogne. Beaune is a famous wine city with numerous cellars and also the well known hospices.
Have a wine taste in your first B&B.

Day 2 Beaune - Pommard - Monthélie - Puligny-Montrachet

About 3 to 4 hours of walk

Near Beaune center and just over the plain of the Saône, you will discover vineyards lands, low walls built with stones. Then, you will walk until the vineyards called Pommard: a red wine with red berries aromas.
After a break there and having a look at beautiful houses, you will walk towards Volnay, Monthélie and visit the castle, the Romanic church, old houses and cellars!
Finally you will visit the Château de Meursault and its orangery, have a wine taste of famous wines in its cellars which was built in the 14th and 16th centuries.

Day 3 Puligny-Montrachet - Santenay

About 5 hours of walk

From the vineyards of Montrachet, have a walk until the hamlet of Gamay and discover there a house built on the rock. Beautiful! Then you will cross the charming village of Saint-Aubin where you can have a look to the church built in the 10th century.
On the more savage “mountain”, you will wind across oaks and pines to go down in the Dheune Valley and admire Dukes’ Castles, a nice windmill and the sloping vineyards of Santenay.
Then you will enter in the famous vineyard of Chassagne Montrachet where the black Pinot near the Chardonnay is growing.
Have a wine taste dinner before spending the night at Puligny-Montrachet.

Day 4 Puligny-Montrachet - Saint-Romain

About 3 to 4 hours of walk

By following the Way of the Monks, you will arrive in Blagny. You enter there in a valley that sinks into a nice village called Auxey-Duresses, full of vineyards. Have a wine taste at the family cellar Jean-Pierre Prunier, savor red ruby color and white straw color wines, and then take the direction of the Hamlet of Petit-Auxay where you can admire a fortified Romanic Church. On the foothills you can have a look to numerous Prehistoric and Gallo-roman remains.
Circled by steep cliffs, Saint-Romain is one the oldest village in the region. There you will discover an old castle’s ruins, a white wine which offers lime tree smelling with minerals accent.
Have a dinner in restaurant.

Day 5 Saint-Romain - Dracy - Beaune

About 3 hours of walk

To finish that pleasant hike vacation, you will ascent toward forests that will lead you to a high village called Orches with its fountain which is a Gallo-roman stele. A belvedere with a beautiful view on Mont Blanc! Then go down to the Hamlet of Baubigny where you will discover its original church and then the ruins of a medieval village called Dracy.
The last visit is a castle built in the 13th century called Rochepot which roof is multicolor. It is one of the most interesting places in Bourgogne.
